Next weekend 30th april - 6th May we travel again on our annual Lourdes Pilgrimage.
This year we have a group of thirteen travelling, of which five are staying in the Accuile Norte Dame (Hospital), three Hotel Pilgrims and our members on ward and kitchen teams staying in the Hotel Alba.
As a group of thirteen from Drimnagh, we are part of the Order of Malta National Pilgrimage and again this year we have three full flights going out from Ireland, two from Dublin and one from Knock.
In Lourdes we will join up with the Order of Malta International Pilgrimage, groups come from as far away as the US and Australia.
This year we will have two members from the Australian Order of Malta working with us on our ward team.
Fr. Martin Ryan said to me on one trip, that the pilgrimage bit "was the journey there and back" and while in Lourdes we pray, relax, do a couple of outings and have a party.
One of our Drimnagh guests staying in the hospital celebrates her 90th birthday while in Lourdes and we will celebrate it with her.
